A suspect has been arrested.

Scott Beier, Charlene's boyfriend, was arrested in Russia for her murder. Beier has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree felony murder, sexual assault, two counts of tampering with evidence, third-degree assault and two counts of attempting to influence a public servant, by misleading authorities about Charlene’s disappearance. Her remains have yet to be located.

Charlene's family last heard from her on June 29, 2016. She had recently moved to Colorado. Family has reported that it is extremely unusual for Charlene not to be in contact.
