Overview of Christene Seal
Christene Anna Nickle Seal is a 22 year old woman living with her husband and son right outside of Verona, Missouri, at the time of her disappearance on June 19, 1972. She worked at a nearby salon, and is known to have loved her family and would never leave her son.
On the morning of June 19, 1972, Christene's husband Linn left for work around 8am while Christene and their son, David, were still asleep in their beds. Around 9:30am, the mailman stopped by to deliver the mail, and noticed a young boy standing alone and crying inside the screen door. Linn worked on the dairy farm where the Seal family owned a mobile home, so Linn often stopped by the house while on break. He went back to the house around 9:45am, and found David crying alone in the kitchen. Christene was missing, along with a pair of pajamas and a light coat.
Linn called Christene's parents, Doyle and Trudy, to ask if they had seen Christene that day. They had met up the day before for a Father's Day outing, but had not seen her since then. Police were soon contacted and bloodhounds picked up a scent leading from the house to a spot in the yard where a car may have been, but the trail went cold from there.
Seven years after her disappearance, Christene was declared legally dead. Linn and Christene divorced two years after her disappearance, and his second wife officially adopted David. Doyle Nickle passed away in 2019 at the age of 98, and Trudy Nickle remains a strong advocate for her daughter's case. David and Linn still live, but David has no memory of Christene's disappearance and Linn has been dealing with the aftereffects of a concussion in recent years.
At the time of her disappearance on June 19, 1972, Christene is a 22 year old woman with brown hair and blue eyes, standing around 5'8" and weighing around 150 lbs. Today, she would be 73 years old.
