Denard, aka "Dedo" Alexander, has been described by family and friends as a wonderful person with a beautiful smile, personality, and sense of humor. Numerous people sent condolences to his family, with the majority all agreeing on one thing, he was loved and will be missed by all. Another loved one wrote, "He had plans in life to become a better person, friend, father, a better son, brother, and a better businessman, but God had the best plans."

On the day Denard was murdered, Police responded to a call about a man shot at the Palmetto Apartments. Upon arrival, they found Denard in the stairwell, shot in the head. No life-saving measures would be taken on this call; the paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The time was approximately 5:25 am on a Wednesday.

This case is currently still open. Authorities do not have a motive or a suspect at this time, but they hope someone will come forward.
