Douglas Brucks went missing on April 10, 1995 after his mother dropped him off at a restaurant in Jefferson City, Missouri. He planned to meet an unknown person there. He was last heard from the next day, when he called his mother and said he was "at the lake" and someone else was going to give him a ride home. He never showed up to drive his mother and her friend to St. Louis, Missouri.

Douglas was carrying a $5,000 check from an insurance policy, which was later cashed in Columbia, Missouri by an unknown person. Douglas had struggled with addiction for ten years prior to his disappearance and his sister believes it's possible someone he met in one of the addiction treatment programs harmed him.

Douglas leaves behind a young son and foul play is suspected in his disappearance.
