In February 1997, Elsie Elsinga was last seen at her residence in Port Richey, Florida, located in the 9900 block of Grace Drive. The last person to speak to her was her daughter, who lived next door, at around 8:00 p.m. on February 16th.

There were unconfirmed reports that a neighbor saw Elsie walking on Pocono Drive off Westsport Drive three days later, but this sighting has not been verified. Since then, Elsie has never been seen or heard from again.

Elsie's daughter found a note addressed to her that said, "I messed up my life and going away. Love, Mom." However, Elsie had a history of making similar statements, and her daughter did not believe that her mother was serious.

There is little information available regarding the circumstances surrounding Elsie's disappearance. However, foul play is suspected in her case.
