Overview of Jacob Furrer
Jacob Furrer, a former combat engineer with the Army National Guard, went missing on April 30, 2016, in Calexico, California. According to reports, Jacob was last seen at a Denny's restaurant in the company of his mother. CCTV footage showed him using the restroom after his mother left, and then leaving. However, he has not been heard from since.
Jacob had worked at The Gun Shop and Border Tactical, both located in El Centro, California, before becoming a truck driver at a mine. However, after a close friend's death in September 2015, Jacob started experiencing depression and anxiety. By the end of that year, he had quit all his jobs and given away most of his possessions.
On the morning after his disappearance, Jacob texted his mother a birthday message at 6:43 a.m. Since then, he has not used his Facebook account, and his phone has been turned off. As Calexico is located on the Mexican border, it is possible that Jacob crossed into Mexico after his disappearance. Another possibility is that he went to Yuma, Arizona.
The police in El Centro are currently investigating Furrer's disappearance, but his case remains unsolved.
