Hysong was last seen at 10:15 a.m., flying a rented 1993 Piper Cherokee Arrow from the Toledo Suburban Airport. He was suppose to take a twenty minute flight to Jackson, Michigan to take a test to become a flight instructor. Hysong did not file a flight plan. The FAA air logs show that Hysong flew past Jackson and over Lake Michigan, where it disappeared an hour after take off.
