July 17, 2015Martha Morrison is identified
Details After a culmination of Martha's family revitalizing a search for her, Jamie's sister pushing for DNA comparison with Jamie and discovery that the 2nd set of bones from Dole Road are missing, and also the dogged efforts of Nikki Costa with the Clark County Medical Examiner's office, it was realized that there were many mishaps in the search for Martha and the efforts to identify the remains from Dole Road. Remains had been mislabeled at some point and changes occurred in investigative teams. Costa found the skull was labelled with Carol Valenzuela's name, the other woman found with the unknown remains. Jamie was then ruled out, which was difficult for Starr. However, they could now proceed to exhume Martha Morrison's father and extract DNA to get the most reliable sample for comparison to finally able to identify Martha.
