At the time of her disappearance, Janell was residing in residential home for women. Janell is married but had recently separated from her husband prior to relocating to the home for women.

She was last seen on September 2nd, 2016 at a convenience store in Jasper, Alabama. It is unknown if she left with another person, and there is no vehicle or method of transportation known.
