Overview of Jeanie Lofton
Jeanie Lofton disappeared on April 2, 1994, after borrowing her mother's car to pick up medicine for her sick baby. She was last seen alive that afternoon, and her whereabouts have remained a mystery ever since.
The abandoned car was discovered later that day, unlocked near Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church on FM 2517, with Jeanie's purse, sunglasses, keys, and her baby's prescriptions still inside. There were no signs of a struggle, leaving investigators puzzled.
At the time of her disappearance, Jeanie was separated from her husband, Charles Lofton, and in the midst of a divorce and custody battle over their two young sons. The couple had a volatile relationship, and both had been jailed for domestic violence against each other.
Charles was scheduled to take a polygraph exam on May 3 in connection with Jeanie's disappearance, but he claimed that he had been shot the day before by an unidentified man driving a black car. His claim was investigated and ultimately dismissed as false when experts determined that Charles had gunshot residue on his hands and had been shot at close range.
Despite two grand jury investigations, no one has been indicted for Jeanie's disappearance. However, foul play is suspected. The case remains unsolved, and Jeanie's family continues to seek answers about her disappearance.
