According to family members, John George Schwind left the Columbus, Ohio in 2015 on foot to travel the country. He hiked/hitchhiked to several states including spending time in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. He was also reportedly in Mexico at some point. John kept up with family and friends on Facebook and by phone. The last contact anyone had with John was in June of 2018 when he told a cousin that he was in Montana and was heading back West.
