Overview of Johnny Galvan
Johnny Galvan was 47 years old and in poor health when he disappeared in August of 2008. Family and friends called him "Chumbe." He suffered from throat cancer in 2003. As a result, he has a tracheotomy tube and requires medication for his pain and other medical issues. Johnny was being treated for depression and had recently been prescribed a new medication that, according to his mother, made him "disoriented."
Johnny was last seen by his roommate at some point on August 23, 2008. Sometime during the day, Johnny's credit card was used to order a taxi cab to drive from his house to a nearby Walgreens. We don't know if Johnny actually rode in this taxi and where he might have gone afterward. That evening, his roommate came home and noticed that his bedroom door was closed.
Around 12:30 pm on August 24, his roommate arrived home and saw that his door was still shut, so she went to check on him; Johnny wasn't there. The roommate filed a missing person's report with the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office.
There has been no public update on Johnny's case since 2008. In a news article from September 2008, Capt. Steve Whitton, of HC Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, said " their office has done all it can do on the case, including search nearby wooded areas," & they had transferred the case to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons division.
