Martinez Francis Brown, aka 'Chop,' was only 44 when he lost his life to gun violence. He was a forklift operator at Walmart. Family and friends described him as a respectful, kind young man who always smiled. Lawrence had a large family with seven brothers, four sisters, and many other family and friends who loved him.

There is very little information online regarding Martinez's murder. However, we do know that in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 23, 2017, Martinez was shot and killed in the 2000 block of Reverend John Raphael Way.

Investigators are still looking for possible suspects and motives, and no arrests have been made. This case is still open.
