Overview of Mary McCarty
Mary was a hardworking homemaker that was making a better life for her and her daughters. She was a quiet homemaker and career bookeeper at at nursing home, where she had made a good living to support her family. She was an introvert and homebody that enjoyed quiet activities, playing the mandolin, and watching TV like Magnum P.I. and The Love Boat. Mary, alongside her daughter Vicki, was murdered sometime on or before August 25th, 1987. Mary was beaten to death in her sleep by a hammer, wielded by an unknown assailant. Neighbors proposed that they fell victim to an increase of burglary in the area, but fail to consider the coincidence that Vicki's violent boyfriend had made a threat against them after she rejected his proposal the day prior. Was this the work of a petty thief who tried to escape unapprehended, or did Mary fall victim to an ex-boyfriend's revenge? The case is currently at a standstill, with no leads or tips.
