Mato Woistinma Dow grew up in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and at age 25, he went missing in his own community. Mato, known to his friends as Santana, was a determined young man. He attended Redwood Valley High School and later transferred to Eci' Nompa Woonspe, a charter school in Morton, Minnesota. Mato is a father of two daughters. Mato had pride in being Native American; he practiced what his ancestors passed down to love and respect mother earth. Mato's soul had pure love, and his disappearance has been heartbreaking to the community.

Mato went missing around midnight on 10/13/2017. He was last seen at his sister's apartment on the block of 100 S Minnesota St. Not much is known about Mato's disappearance; we know that he was last seen on Friday around midnight. Authorities captured a photo of Mato shortly after he went missing wearing gray basketball shorts, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and black shoes. That would be the last update from the BCA since 2017 on Mato Dow. The family and community have never heard of or seen him again. His last Facebook post was on October 11, 2017, two days before he disappeared.

Mato Dow's missing case is still active, but no leads or information has been given to the public. Mato is part of the Lower Sioux Indian Community in Minnesota; two agencies Lower Sioux and Redwood Falls police departments, are working together to find him and other missing Native Americans in the area. Mato's family is taking the case into their own hands by keeping his name alive through social media, going to community events spreading the word on Matos's case and other indigenous missing person cases.
