Pauline, aged 64 when she disappeared, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who investigators swear would never leave on her own accord. At the time of her disappearance, Pauline was in the process of divorcing her husband.

Loved ones of Pauline describe her as healthy, helpful, and kind. Pauline was also known to keep a clean house and a neat appearance. While Pauline was working at the H-E-B, Ruiz had to be escorted out several times due to altercations with her. Ruiz has been named a person of interest in Pauline's disappearance.

December 7, 2010: The last sighting of Pauline

For Pauline, December 7, 2010, was supposed to be just a regular day. She was scheduled to work her shift at the H-E-B grocery store. While walking towards her 2010 white Toyota Tacoma, surveillance footage captured Pauline and an unknown woman walking around Pauline's truck as if they were examining it. No one knows what happened to Pauline after she appeared on the surveillance footage at 2:30 PM. Ruiz told police that Pauline was to stop by his home to retrieve a lawnmower but that she never made it to his house to pick it up. However, Pauline did go to his home, and Ruiz was the last one to see her.

Days after Pauline went missing, her car was found

On December 8, Pauline's 2010 white Toyota Tacoma truck was found parked in Wilson County, in Floresville, TX. The vehicle was on Highway 181 and F.M 320. This location happens to be just down the road from Ruiz's home. There was no sign of Pauline at the scene. In fact, there was no indication that anything criminal happened at the location except that Pauline's purse was found under the driver's seat in the truck.

What happened after Pauline disappeared

After Pauline disappeared, her estranged husband, Ruiz, contacted her life insurance broker. He was inquiring about the beneficiary of Pauline's life insurance. According to sources, Ruiz was not happy when he discovered he was not the policy's beneficiary.

Pauline's family has hired a private investigator to look into her disappearance. The private investigator believes Pauline did arrive home after stopping by Ruiz's. His reason for thinking this is that Pauline's shoes, the pair she wore the day she went missing, were found in her house. The shoes had sand stuck to them. The sand was similar to sand found at Ruiz's home. There were also articles of clothing scattered around Pauline's home, which was uncharacteristic of the tidy grandmother.

In 2018 detectives and investigators dug at Pauline and Ruiz's former home in Floresville, TX. The detectives were searching for her body. The excavation of the property uncovered nothing. Ruiz has never been charged in Pauline's case and denies he had anything to do with her disappearance.

Where Pauline's case stands today

As of today, Pauline's case is still unsolved. Her family knows in their heart that Pauline would not choose to leave them. They know that where she is, she is not there willingly. During the summer of 2021, Pauline's loved ones released balloons to celebrate what would be her 75th birthday.
