Augustin-Jones was only 23 years old when he lost his life and died in his parents' arms that fateful night. He was a husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many people who loved him.

It was still warm out and cloudy with an overcast around 6pm on Tuesday, 01/29/2013. Steven and an unidentified 23 year old male were standing outside a home located in the 7100 block of Bunker Hill Rd in New Orleans when someone opened fire. Both young men were shot multiple times, and Augustin collapsed on the porch and died. The other man was rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition.

Authorities do not have a motive or a suspect, but they hope someone will come forward. This case is still open.
