Thelma Jean Cobb - or Thel, as some called her, was last seen in 1946. Thelma was a housekeeper and worked for the Walters family in Edwardsport, Knox, Indiana. Thelma came from a large family, having nine brothers and sisters.

She was traveling between Vincennes and Fort Branch, Indiana to visit her father, John H. Cobb, and stepmother. She got on the bus to travel back home, but she never arrived.

Seven years after she vanished, one of the sons in her employer's family had her declared dead. Her employer had passed away, leaving his fortune divided between his three surviving children (another son had predeceased him) and his loyal housekeeper, Thelma. Once she was declared dead, her portion would revert to the Walters family.

There is very little information on Thelma's case, but her case may be one of the oldest missing person cases in Indiana state history. 

Thelma is described as a white female, standing 5 foot 2 inches to 5 foot 5 inches tall and weighing 115 to 130 pounds. She had brown hair and eyes.
